Sav finished the summer with the second most points tied with Peter Lamonica and John Leonardi. The leader scorer for the summer was Matt Seckler with 10 goals, 1 assist and 11 points. Winning face offs was Ortizzo’s specialty and his toughness kept the Rockets in many games against the Orange Lantern, Sabres, and Hazuka Electric who team consisted of most the St. Thomas Aquinas College Team Players. Sav was quoted after the 2-1 playoff loss to the Sabres as promising a Championship for the Rockets in the winter season. “I will score at least 20 goals during the winter and lead the team to the Championship game for sure.” |
On August 23rd, 2007 the Hoboken Rockets played the Sabres at the Ice House in Hackensack, N.J. Jimmy Tavoroni score the Rockets first goal on a pass from Peter Lamonica to Bruno Bisacci formerly of Hoboken. There was a minute left in the first period at the scoring time. Also shown is Mike Hubacher, Jerry Zaccaria, Darren Amerkanian, Kyle Langowski the goalie for the Hoboken Rockets. |
The Hoboken Rockets organization consists of four teams in different levels and was started in 1991 by Roger Muller. At the moment there are 80 players in the organization who are playing in levels 4-5-7-8a at the Icehouse which is located in Hackensack, New Jersey. To All Rocket Players Present and Past:
Please note that I am working on improving the www.hobokenrockets.com website. I am trying to make it interesting and need some information from you. Please write up a short bio on yourself. I am looking for occupation, what high school, college or club team you played for. If you have any history in your family like parents playing or kids please include it.
So far I have a list of brothers, sisters, uncles, cousins, doctors, policemen and fireman who are on or played for the Rockets in the past. Some of you might be able to get some business from the site also by including your occupation. An example would be Darren Amerkanian who is a Stock Broker. Many of you might be interested. Also Sal Rutigliano is an owner of an Audi Dealership. He has some great deals to offer the Rockets and their families.
Lastly, please have someone take a digital picture of you in your Rockets jersey and email it to me at roger@mullerinsurance.com Have your wife, girlfriend or child take the picture for you.
Thank you for your help. I have been putting lots of work into this project and need a little help from each Rocket player.
